Accreditation

All members of the incumbent bariatric team should attend training with the parent unit. Travelling and accommodation costs remain the responsibility of the team seeking formal training. The training should take place at a time suitable to both teams.

Requires inspection by one of the international accrediting bodies e.g. IFSO
25 cases /surgeon/year 2 fully accredited surgeons per facility, 1 with a lifetime number of 125 cases within the last 2 years. European chapter: 80/center/year (developing countries) International: 125/center/year Data base: 60% lifelong follow-up International data base Full time programme director (not one of the surgeons) Fully accredited team Mortality and morbidity evaluation by accrediting body
